Exidor Exit Devices - Product Glossary

Pullman Catches

For doors that are subject to a high volume of traffic or to be able to offer a higher level of security, then Exidor Pullman Catches are the answer. The Pullman Catches provide a smooth and quiet alternative to the traditional top trip catch and therefore are recommended for interconnecting doors as well as external doors. The level of security is increased because the units operate independently and yet they maintain the emergency facility in that they are retracted in one action by a Bar, Push Pad or Touchbar when required.

The Pullman catches are housed in an enclosed keep and are designed so that they can only be attacked by going through the door, however due to the design, the catch will throw outwards rather than retract if attacked, thus increasing the security.

The Exidor Pullman Catches can be supplied with any of the Exidor Panic Bolt range or can be fitted to an existing unit should it be required to upgrade a unit. Exidor 314 Pullman Catch Kits are available.

Dogging Device

For use with the standard Exidor Panic Bolt range a dogging device is available as an accessory (Exidor 299), but is built-in to the Exidor 400 Series Touchbar range. The dogging device allows the bolts to be withheld in the retracted position ensuring the automatic top trip catch or Pullman Catches do not engage when the door is closed.

(Not suitable for fire door application)

Outside Access Device

An Outside Access Device is used to provide a key holder with access from the outside of a door while maintaining the emergency exit function from the inside whether the OAD is locked or unlocked.

Adjustable Shoots

To overcome the problem of bolts not fully engaging in the keeps due to the door or frame moving after a period of time, adjustable shoots are available on the Exidor Panic Bolts. These adjustable shoots allow + or - 5mm of adjustment and are particularly suited for soft wood and UPVC doors and frames.

Anti-Thrust

A device built into a unit to prevent either a bolt or latch from being forced back when in the closed position, thus increasing the level of security.
